Figure 4 (2024) captures the lively essence of the Cayman Quadrille, also known as the Kitchen Dance or Sand Dance. In a sandy yard, a group joyfully dances Figure 4 against the backdrop of a traditional Cayman cottage. A man plays the fiddle, another the maracas, while a lady uses a grater and fork to add to the festive melody. This piece celebrates the cultural heritage and communal spirit of the Cayman Islands, where music, dance, and tradition beautifully intertwine.

Sweepin' Da Yard (2024) portrays a Caymanian lady diligently sweeping her sand yard, a timeless tradition rooted in cultural heritage. In the background stands a traditional cistern, essential for catching rainwater, with a rooster perched atop it. The walkway to the front door is adorned with pretty pink conch shells, adding a festive touch. This scene harkens back to the day before Christmas Eve, when families would head to the beach with silver thatch sand baskets to gather sand for their yards. Ornamental plants with vibrant blossoms, including tiny red flowers that bloom in December, enhance the festive ambiance of the meticulously maintained sand yard and garden.

Fishnin' (2024) captures a quintessential Caymanian fishing scene with two fishermen aboard a traditional Cayman Catboat. One man peers through a looking glass to spot fish beneath the waves, while the other skillfully handles a fishing line. Beneath the shimmering surface, the painting bursts into a vibrant depiction of the rich marine environment, teeming with colorful fish and coral. This piece beautifully illustrates the harmony between the fishermen and the sea, celebrating the timeless tradition and natural beauty of the Cayman Islands. Download colouring page.
